Striders of Croydon

Eight pace groups means there's one for you

🏃 Croydon 2–3 times per week - Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays Social Competitive Trail Beginner-friendly

Worried you'll be too slow - or too fast - for a club? We run up to eight pace groups on a Wednesday, plus a gentle run/walk option, so you'll slot in wherever you are.

Wednesday's the big 7:30pm club run, Monday is speed at Croydon Arena, Friday's a steady social one - most from or near the clubhouse. Anyone from 7:30-min-milers to run/walkers fits in, and Wednesdays end with drinks in the clubhouse. We put on the Switchback Five and help run the Lloyd Park Race for Life.

Off-road through the summer, South Croydon roads in winter, good company all year.

Real stories of people who found their people in London.

Liam Carver · 17 June 2026 Burnout took me apart. A beginner running club is how I put myself back together. I pushed myself until I broke, then sat at home ashamed and flat. Learning to run slowly, with no one keeping score, taught me that showing up gently beats winning. Arjun Mehta · 13 June 2026 I optimised my whole life in London. Except the part that actually mattered. I moved here for a brilliant engineering job and built a life so efficient I barely had to speak to anyone. It worked perfectly, right up until it didn't. A running club fixed what I couldn't. Bridget Lawson · 18 June 2026 I look after my mum full time. A Saturday walk is the one hour that's mine. Caring for someone you love can quietly erase you. This is about the morning I started walking with a group of strangers, and how one hour a week gave me back to myself.
