Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data London Social Clubs ("we", "us") collects, why, and what your rights are. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller. If you have any questions, email shorekey.apps@protonmail.com.

What we collect

• Club listings. When you submit a club we collect the club's details (name, description, area, links). This information is published on the site.
• Your contact details. The name and email you give when submitting a club. These are not published - we use them only to contact you about your listing.
• Technical data. We temporarily record IP addresses to rate-limit submissions and protect the site from spam and abuse.

Why we use it and our legal basis

• To run and display the directory - our legitimate interests in operating the service.
• To contact you about your listing - to take steps at your request and our legitimate interests.
• To prevent spam and abuse (IP addresses) - our legitimate interests in keeping the site secure.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We use trusted providers to run the site, who process data on our behalf:

• Google Firebase (Firestore) - stores submissions and rate-limit records.
• Google Analytics - collects anonymised usage data (pages visited, referrer, browser/device type) to help us understand how the site is used. Google may process this data outside the UK; Google's standard contractual clauses apply.
• Vercel - hosts the website.

These providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) apply.

How long we keep it

• Published listings and contact details - kept while the listing is live, and for a short period afterwards.
• IP / rate-limit records - kept only briefly, then automatically removed.
• Analytics data - retained by Google Analytics for 14 months by default (configurable in your Google Analytics account).

Cookies

We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies on your device to measure site usage (e.g. pages visited, session duration, referrer). These cookies do not identify you personally. Google Analytics cookies typically expire after 2 years. We do not use advertising or targeting cookies.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by disabling cookies in your browser settings.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email shorekey.apps@protonmail.com and we'll respond within one month.

You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
