Wanstead's home for first-timers and ultra-runners alike

🏃 Redbridge 2–3 times per week - Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays & Sundays Beginner-friendly Social Competitive Trail

We're 250-plus runners based in Wanstead, pulling in people from across East London and Essex - and the range is huge, from never-run-before to ultra-distance.

There's a Monday track night, a Wednesday club run, Saturday parkrun and a Sunday long run, all from Wanstead Leisure Centre, E11. Road, cross country, track, races from 5K to ultras - take your pick. We had a hand in setting up Wanstead Flats parkrun, too.

New runners are always, always welcome. Pick a session, come down, and see how you get on.

Real stories of people who found their people in London.

Erin Walsh · 16 June 2026 Socialising never made sense to me. At a board game night, the rules were finally written down. As an autistic adult, the unspoken rules of socialising always left me lost and exhausted. A board game night was the first place the rules were actually explicit - and I could finally relax. Rachel Okafor · 15 June 2026 I was someone's mum from 6am to midnight. A book club gave me back two hours that were mine. After my son was born I disappeared into being his mother. The thing that brought me back wasn't a spa day or a grand gesture. It was a paperback and a room full of women. Hannah Cole · 3 June 2026 I moved to London for the job. The loneliness nearly sent me home. Arriving in a city of nine million people and feeling invisible - and the ordinary Tuesday evening that slowly changed everything.
