Black Girls Do Run UK

Built so Black women never run alone

🏃 Across London Weekly Women-only Beginner-friendly Social

This is a free club, an England Athletics affiliate and a registered charity all at once, and the heart of it is simple: getting Black women out running together and keeping them going.

We've got regular free social runs in East, North West and South London, all led by qualified England Athletics run leaders. Every pace is welcome - your nervous first parkrun, your first marathon block, whatever stage you're at, nobody gets left behind. It feels less like a club and more like a sisterhood.

It started in 2019 as a single Instagram page and grew into a city-wide community. You don't need to be quick or kitted out - just come.

Real stories of people who found their people in London.

Liam Carver · 17 June 2026 Burnout took me apart. A beginner running club is how I put myself back together. I pushed myself until I broke, then sat at home ashamed and flat. Learning to run slowly, with no one keeping score, taught me that showing up gently beats winning. Bridget Lawson · 18 June 2026 I look after my mum full time. A Saturday walk is the one hour that's mine. Caring for someone you love can quietly erase you. This is about the morning I started walking with a group of strangers, and how one hour a week gave me back to myself. Claire Donnelly · 7 June 2026 I sat silent at book club for months. Finding my voice there changed my whole life. I'd spent my whole life letting other people's opinions fill the room. A monthly book club, and one patient question, taught me that mine mattered too.
