London Strollers

Leisurely short walks across Greater London

🥾 Across London Twice midweek and at weekends Beginner-friendly Social

London Strollers are a little different from other Ramblers groups: most walks are based right here in Greater London and taken at a relaxed, unhurried pace. If you prefer gentler outings, you'll feel at home - walks are typically 2 to 7 miles and there's no rushing.

Some walk leaders have exceptional knowledge of the places you'll explore, so you'll learn the stories behind London's parks, riversides and surrounding countryside. Walks usually take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at weekends.

You're welcome to try up to three walks for free before deciding whether to join the Ramblers, which then lets you walk with any group in the country. It's a warm, welcoming group ideal for easing into walking.

Real stories of people who found their people in London.

Hannah Cole · 3 June 2026 I moved to London for the job. The loneliness nearly sent me home. Arriving in a city of nine million people and feeling invisible - and the ordinary Tuesday evening that slowly changed everything. Margaret Ellison · 5 June 2026 At 68, I thought my world had got smaller. A walking group proved me wrong. After I retired and lost my husband, the house went quiet and the days got long. Then a Saturday walking group gave me back something I thought was gone for good. Stephen Pryce · 11 June 2026 I couldn't remember the last time I'd made a new friend. Then I made one at 41. My friendships had quietly thinned out over a decade, and I'd stopped believing new ones were still possible at my age. A weekly board game night proved me wrong.
