Small, friendly social walks along London's waterways
This is a social walking-for-fitness group for people who want to walk with a small, friendly group along the River Thames, the Grand Union Canal and through London's parks. Walks go at a moderate pace of about 3 miles an hour with regular stops, so it's sociable rather than a race.
Walking and talking are great for both physical and mental health and a brilliant way to make new friends. Beyond the London walks, the group also organises pub quizzes, disco nights and hiking weekends away in the Lakes and Peaks, plus hiking trips in Europe such as the Camino.
All London walks are free (occasional fundraisers cover Meetup costs). Remember you're responsible for your own fitness and kit - but the welcome is warm and the pace manageable.
