The Ramblers' London network for city and country walks
If you're new to walking and want a friendly, well-organised crowd, the Inner London Ramblers are a brilliant place to start. This is the Ramblers' London Area, made up of ten local and London-wide groups with thousands of members.
Walks range from gentle 2-mile strolls to full-day 20-mile hikes, most averaging 8–10 miles, and almost all are reachable by tube or train. You can explore the very heart of London or head out to the Chilterns, North Downs, South Downs and Kent.
As a newcomer you're welcome to try a few walks for free before joining, and there's a lively social scene alongside the walking. The group also looks after London's great walking routes, including the Capital Ring and London LOOP.
