ESEA Outdoors UK

Outdoor community for East & South East Asian people

🥾 Across London Event-based meetups; see website Social Day trips Beginner-friendly

ESEA Outdoors UK brings together East and South East Asian outdoor enthusiasts and works to tackle racism in the outdoors. It's a welcoming, identity-affirming community with members across London and the UK, running event-based meetups - from walks and hikes to socials - that you can sign up to via their website and community app.

The group has grown strongly, publishing an annual impact report and maintaining an active presence on Instagram and beyond. If you're East or South East Asian and have wanted to explore the outdoors with people who share your background and experiences, this is a supportive space to do exactly that.

Newcomers are warmly welcomed, whatever your fitness level - just check their channels for upcoming events.

Real stories of people who found their people in London.

Margaret Ellison · 5 June 2026 At 68, I thought my world had got smaller. A walking group proved me wrong. After I retired and lost my husband, the house went quiet and the days got long. Then a Saturday walking group gave me back something I thought was gone for good. Stephen Pryce · 11 June 2026 I couldn't remember the last time I'd made a new friend. Then I made one at 41. My friendships had quietly thinned out over a decade, and I'd stopped believing new ones were still possible at my age. A weekly board game night proved me wrong. Erin Walsh · 16 June 2026 Socialising never made sense to me. At a board game night, the rules were finally written down. As an autistic adult, the unspoken rules of socialising always left me lost and exhausted. A board game night was the first place the rules were actually explicit - and I could finally relax.
