Easy, longer walks for the over-40s and everyone
Capital Walkers was set up by Londoners who love getting out into the countryside as well as discovering the lesser-known parts of the city. Aimed at people aged 40-plus - though anyone is welcome - it's a good choice if you fancy easy but slightly longer walks at a comfortable pace.
Walks take place on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and include city routes such as Regent's Park to Olympic Park, plus woodland, suburban and country rambles. There's a sociable side too, with weekends away, theatre trips, ceilidhs and dinners.
This is one of the Inner London Ramblers' Area-wide groups, so you can try a few walks for free before joining. Check the website timetable for upcoming walks; most don't need booking in advance.
