Paced walks and hikes for the Muslim community

🥾 Across London Regular weekend walks and hikes Day trips Social Long-distance

Active Muslims focuses on getting more people active - particularly from within Muslim communities - through walking, hiking and other fun, movement-based events. These are paced walks and hikes (not gentle strolls), so come along with an active mindset.

The group deliberately keeps numbers smaller (under about 30 works best) to facilitate quality connections and meaningful conversations as you walk side by side. Walks often head out from London stations like Waterloo and St Pancras to the countryside - the New Forest, the Kent coast and beyond - and all regular walks and hikes are free to join, with optional group train tickets to save money.

Reliable RSVPs matter so others aren't left waiting. A friendly, purposeful community for those who want a proper active day out.

Real stories of people who found their people in London.

Erin Walsh · 16 June 2026 Socialising never made sense to me. At a board game night, the rules were finally written down. As an autistic adult, the unspoken rules of socialising always left me lost and exhausted. A board game night was the first place the rules were actually explicit - and I could finally relax. Liam Carver · 17 June 2026 Burnout took me apart. A beginner running club is how I put myself back together. I pushed myself until I broke, then sat at home ashamed and flat. Learning to run slowly, with no one keeping score, taught me that showing up gently beats winning. Rachel Okafor · 15 June 2026 I was someone's mum from 6am to midnight. A book club gave me back two hours that were mine. After my son was born I disappeared into being his mother. The thing that brought me back wasn't a spa day or a grand gesture. It was a paperback and a room full of women.
