Richmond Library Book Group - Afternoon

A cozy afternoon get-together for local book lovers

📚 Richmond upon Thames Monthly - last Monday Beginner-friendly Fiction Contemporary fiction

Prefer a daytime chat to start your week? Our afternoon reading group meets at the Richmond Lending Library on the last Monday of every month at 5.30pm.

Our sessions are warm, informal, and highly conversational. We focus on sharing our personal reading journeys-what moved us, what surprised us, and what kept us turning pages. It is a wonderful, free space to take a break, enjoy a hot drink, and make friendly local connections in a cozy, relaxed setting. New members are always welcome, so please drop by!

Real stories of people who found their people in London.

Stephen Pryce · 11 June 2026 I couldn't remember the last time I'd made a new friend. Then I made one at 41. My friendships had quietly thinned out over a decade, and I'd stopped believing new ones were still possible at my age. A weekly board game night proved me wrong. Margaret Ellison · 5 June 2026 At 68, I thought my world had got smaller. A walking group proved me wrong. After I retired and lost my husband, the house went quiet and the days got long. Then a Saturday walking group gave me back something I thought was gone for good. Liam Carver · 17 June 2026 Burnout took me apart. A beginner running club is how I put myself back together. I pushed myself until I broke, then sat at home ashamed and flat. Learning to run slowly, with no one keeping score, taught me that showing up gently beats winning.
