Chilled Saturday tabletop gaming and geek culture meetups in Southwark

Welcome to OverBoard London, a super friendly and welcoming community of tabletop lovers meeting weekly to roll dice and socialize.

Our flagship event is the Saturday gaming session at the Thirsty Bear pub in Southwark. The vibe is relaxed, non-competitive, and incredibly welcoming to newcomers. Regulars are always happy to explain the rules, so don't worry if you've never played before-someone will gladly teach you. They also run movie meetups, outdoor gaming sessions in London's beautiful parks during summer, and regular Blood on the Clocktower nights.

It is a fantastic, warm environment to make new friends, share a few laughs, and dive into the tabletop hobby. There are no strict fees, but buying a drink or a pub meal keeps our lovely venues happy.

Real stories of people who found their people in London.

Liam Carver · 17 June 2026 Burnout took me apart. A beginner running club is how I put myself back together. I pushed myself until I broke, then sat at home ashamed and flat. Learning to run slowly, with no one keeping score, taught me that showing up gently beats winning. Marcus Bennett · 9 June 2026 I can't do small talk. At a board game night, I finally didn't have to. Parties, pubs, the dreaded "so what do you do?" - I'd given up on meeting people. Then I sat down at a board game night and the talking just happened sideways. Stephen Pryce · 11 June 2026 I couldn't remember the last time I'd made a new friend. Then I made one at 41. My friendships had quietly thinned out over a decade, and I'd stopped believing new ones were still possible at my age. A weekly board game night proved me wrong.
