Step into London on Board, a massive yet incredibly warm and welcoming community for tabletop players of all stripes.

Meeting nearly every day of the week, this group gathers in various central London spots, including the function room of the Prince Alfred in Queensway and the lower level games area of The Wapping Tavern. Whether you are a total beginner or a seasoned strategist, you will find a friendly table ready to teach you a new game. They play a wide range of modern board games, though they exclude roleplaying, chess, and CCGs to focus purely on board gaming.

It is completely free to attend, but please support our generous venues by ordering food or a drink while you play.

Real stories of people who found their people in London.

Rachel Okafor · 15 June 2026 I was someone's mum from 6am to midnight. A book club gave me back two hours that were mine. After my son was born I disappeared into being his mother. The thing that brought me back wasn't a spa day or a grand gesture. It was a paperback and a room full of women. Margaret Ellison · 5 June 2026 At 68, I thought my world had got smaller. A walking group proved me wrong. After I retired and lost my husband, the house went quiet and the days got long. Then a Saturday walking group gave me back something I thought was gone for good. Stephen Pryce · 11 June 2026 I couldn't remember the last time I'd made a new friend. Then I made one at 41. My friendships had quietly thinned out over a decade, and I'd stopped believing new ones were still possible at my age. A weekly board game night proved me wrong.
